This is more about after your dogs miserable trip to the vet ; The stitch's will look very nasty, your dog may try to lick them, you should try to prevent her because licking the stitch's can lead to a abscess which honestly is not that bad, but that can lead to her trying to bite at them. One thing it to try to keep them from jumping on you, your vet probably told you this, but I find that turning the whole thing into a training session works, like saying : "Oh! off, oh off GOOD!" P.S. Your dog will be a miserable dopey slobbering mess, and even if they don't want to eat or drink when they get home, don't force them, but if they aren't drinking the next day make them drink, but in a pleasant offering way, and splash a little water on their lips.
